Are you ready for the challenge that will help you feel full of energy and life?! We’ve created a special 30-Day Nutrition Challenge for you!
The 30-Day Nutrition Challenge
Over the next 30 days, we will be posting recipes, nutrition tips, and inspiration to guide you to a healthier you!
Join us as we take on this challenge right along with you. You can take on this challenge by being vegetarian, gluten free, or sugar free for the next 30 days. You can do one, two, or even all three together to complete the challenge successfully. Or, if you have your own nutrition challenge you’d like to do, we want to support you with it. Join us here daily for support and inspiration!
Decide Your Challenge
Step one is to decide what your specific challenge will be over the next 30 days. Will you be vegetarian, gluten free, or sugar free? Will you join Tom with vegetarian and sugar free, or will you join Christina with gluten free, sugar free, and vegetarian? If you’re doing your own challenge, decide exactly what it is.
Step two is to write it down. Physically writing your decision on paper helps you take action.
Step three is to start participating in this challenge today and come back daily for updates and tips! (If you can’t start today, just start when you can and go for 30 days.)
Tom’s Challenge
For the next 30 days I am officially a sugar-free herbivore. I will still be a gluten hog. I always feel that sugar is something that really has a negative effect on my body. It makes my energy levels rise and fall, it makes me grouchy and generally makes me feel pretty rough. So a sugar-free month for me will help me stay focused and energetic during this extremely busy time.
In addition, I will actually be sticking to a vegetarian diet for the next 2 months as a little extra challenge for myself. I have found in the past that healthy vegetarian meals usually feel lighter on my body and digest quicker than healthy meaty meals. I often feel sluggish after a meaty meal, whereas after a meat-free meal I can feel full, but very quickly feel light and agile again. My biggest fear at this point is forgetting about the challenge and breaking it. I may have to write down a reminder on my hand!!!
Christina’s Challenge
For the next 30 days, I will be completely sugar-free (no honey, agave, or sugar substitutes … only fruit and the small amount of natural sugars in an item), gluten-free (except Ezekiel bread), and vegetarian (as always). I feel great and healthy when I eat this way. I’m looking forward to doing this challenge not only for myself but also along with you, a part of our Fit Body Full Life family!
I find sugar affects me the most short-term, as I immediately get the sugar rush followed by a long-lasting energy crash. I don’t notice the effect of gluten as quickly, although it tends to make me feel slightly bloated. Gluten affects me more on a longer-term basis. If I have gluten for a longer period of time, I have a much harder time maintaining my ideal body. As for the vegetarian side, this will not be a struggle as I’ve been a life-long vegetarian. I now tend to be mostly vegan as well, except for eggs, yogurt, whey protein, and some goats cheese.
I look forward to the extra energy that I know I will experience these next 30 days!
Note: If you’d like to know more about my experiences and the results of being gluten free, sugar free, and dairy free for 6 months, check out My 6-Month Nutrition and Fitness Experiment.

Very good topic! I did challenged myself a year ago to go “Gluten Free”, now I am a gluten free food blogger and loving every minute of it… way to go! thanks…
These challenges are really worth doing – one feels so much better after and one picks up many healthy habits without too much effort. With the New Year only days away, this would be a very good start to a healthy new year.
