Do you get into a routine and that’s it? Is your schedule set and your life stuck in a rut? Does this sound like you? We all need creativity in our lives.
Here are 5 ways to put some more creativity into your life, even with things that could normally feel very mundane:
1. Add some color. Color is lively and can spark creativity. It’s tax season, probably one of the last things you like to think about. However, if you add some color to your spreadsheet or whatever system you use, maybe it will feel better. If you’re feeling down and wear a bright color, it can help your feelings improve. Experiment and have some fun!
2. Use culinary artwork. Food is a great opportunity to be creative within everyday life. We have to eat to survive, so why not make it fun and a way to express some creativity?! Work that kitchen, baby!
3. Use creative language. Think of how many words you say in a day. Try learning a word a day and using it creatively in your daily speech. You can try to see how many different ways you can use it throughout the day.
4. Change up your exercise. Changing your exercise will challenge the body and create positive alteration quicker. Try to do a different type of exercise every day of the week, or try something different every other day. Then your exercise routine will be more interesting, with 4-7 different routines to rotate throughout the week.
5. Entice your senses. Take a walk and enjoy the sunshine and smell of nature. Appreciate the color and objects in your office (you can add some nature with a flower or green plant on your office desk). Take in your surroundings and appreciate the great things about them. Try challenging yourself to find positive things that enrich your senses!
When you are creative, not only is life more enjoyable and exciting, but it can also help you get in touch with yourself more. Try being more creative for a week and see if you feel any difference for the better. Enjoy life on the creative side! 🙂
