Christmas Ornaments with a Message
My husband and I decided to decorate our Christmas tree this year with new ornaments. We created ornaments that have positive and/or spiritual messages. Check out my post tomorrow for a tutorial on how to make the other ornaments we created!
It was such a fun craft and activity to do together! It’s extra special when we see the ornaments on our tree. The positive and spiritual messages are great reminders of what Christmas is really about.
We enjoyed making them and seeing them on our tree so much that I wanted to share this easy ornament craft with you!
What You’ll Need to Make the Sparkly Message Christmas Tree Ornaments
- Sparkly Silver Ribbon (Similar ribbon here! Similar ribbon with sparkly trim here and here!)
- Gold Glass Ornaments (I used a mixture of gold shiny & matte glass ornaments.)
- Silver Glass Ornaments (I used a mixture of silver shiny & matte glass ornaments.)
- Glitter Letter Stickers – Silver (Similar here, here, and here!)
- Tape
- Scissors
Cut the ribbon to the length loop and bow you’d like. Then loop the ribbon through the ornament and tie a bow. I found that longer ribbon made making pretty bows easier.
Fold a piece of tape and stick it on the back of the ornament. Then place the ornament and tape on the surface where you will be making the rest of the ornaments. The tape will help the ornament stay in place and not roll around.
Decide what word or message you’d like to create. Then place the alphabet stickers on the ornament to create your message. I lightly placed the stickers so I could gently lift them and move them if necessary. When I was happy with how the message looked, I patted each letter sticker to help it adhere to the ornament.
That’s it! It really is that easy!
This is also a great activity for kids.
Enjoy making and reading the messages you create on your ornaments. These also make great gifts.
I chose the message “Gratitude” for this ornament. It is such an important message to keep in mind, especially during this time of the year.
Glitter Glue Sparkly Christmas Ornaments with a Message
Glitter glue is another option for creating ornaments with messages on them. If you’re more artistic, you may like this version. You will want to apply thicker glitter glue so that when it dries it stays raised. My husband, Tom, who is much more of an artist than I am, preferred to use the glitter glue rather than stickers. I, on the other hand, found the glitter alphabet stickers to be my favorite way to write pretty messages on the ornaments. For me, the stickers were a very reliable way to have my messages look how I wanted them to look.
Both are great options and look really pretty!
It looks attractive having the mixture of glitter glue messages and glitter sticker messages on the ornaments. So, it worked out perfectly that we made both.
This is one of the glitter glue ornaments Tom made for our tree that has the message “Love”!
