I’m happy that I can use my vitiligo to show a positive body image for my son. I’ve made this free printable to help you know that your vitiligo can not only help you but also help others, whether you are a parent or not, and at any stage in life.
I created a word art freebie based on this. If you’d like to share this image online or on social media, please use the image with the watermark. I really appreciate when you link to my post, too.

“Use My Vitiligo to Show a Positive Body Image for My Son” Word Art
I started to get vitiligo when I was 11 years old. It gradually spread throughout my body. The most obvious places I have vitiligo are on my hands, knees, feet, elbows, and stomach.
As a mom to my baby boy, it’s so important to me to be a positive role model for him. I not only have accepted my vitiligo, I have found my vitiligo to be a blessing. I want to pass this acceptance, gratitude, positive body image, and more on to my son.
I often find that I actually forget I have vitiligo. It’s not something that I think about often or feel a need to hide it or show it more; I just go about my daily life. When I do think about it, it sometimes surprises me how when you accept something so much, you can forget you have it. I also think about how it’s been a blessing to me. There are times where I’ve felt it would be nice not to have vitiligo; for example, when I have to put extra sunscreen on the vitiligo on my chest on top of my other sunscreen so I don’t get burned. However, when I think about how something like vitiligo has helped my life, it really helps me have a good perspective.
