The Relax Day Experiment - Week 7

The Relax Day Experiment Week 7: Summer Birthday, Visitor Fun, and Workshop Presenting

My family’s visiting this week! I’m also back to work at the Kroc as the rink reopens on Monday. It’s my husband’s birthday this week, too, so celebration time! Read on below to see how my week went.

Sunday, July 7th:

I started my day with a workout. I did 35 minutes of Zumba choreography.

Then Chea, my mom, and I had a girls’ afternoon! My mom and I had facials, and Chea had a prenatal massage. Lovely!

We then got together with our men and had lunch and played Cashflow 101, the board game. A great and fun day!

I prepared for work and took care of some things. I also did some planning for a workshop I’m presenting this week.

Day 43 complete. A lovely Sunday!

Monday, July 8th:

I worked in the morning, took care of some extra work, and worked out. I did 30 minutes of Zumba choreography.

After work in the afternoon, I did some errands and met up with my family for dinner and a movie! We saw World War Z. It was surprisingly good.

I did some writing and then planning for the workshop I’m presenting this week.

Day 44 complete. A productive and good day!

Tuesday, July 9th:

I started today with a workout. I did 45 minutes of Zumba choreography that I’m teaching tomorrow.

I ran an errand, and then Tom and I went to lunch with my family at Peace Pies, a raw-food restaurant in OB (Ocean Beach)! Peace Pies is all raw food, gluten free, vegan, and soy free. It’s only Tom’s and my second time eating there, but every dish we’ve had has been awesome and feels great for the body.

I finished preparing for my workshop tomorrow. Then we met up with my family for dinner at Sammy’s. It’s great that Sammy’s has gluten-free pizza crust and vegan cheese.

Day 45 complete. A lovely day off with my husband and family!

Wednesday, July 10th:

I presented this morning as a guest presenter at the San Diego Ice Arena. The first part was an on-ice Interpretive Dance Workshop, which is mostly about artistic impression and portraying your program. The second part was an off-ice Zumba class with the skaters.

I met up for lunch with Will, Chea, and my parents at Cozymel’s Mexican restaurant. I had vegetable fajitas with black beans and corn tortillas. I then taught at the ice rink until 8:15pm.

Day 46 complete. A good day presenting at San Diego Ice Rink!

Thursday, July 11th:

My parents had to leave, and I caught up on things today. I also prepared for some of Tom’s birthday celebrations. After work, Chea and I surprised Tom with balloons, dinner, and cake!

Then Tom and I went for a walk for our workout today.

Day 47 complete. Ready for tomorrow’s birthday celebrations!

Friday, June 12th:

Today is Tom’s birthday! So, after morning work, I surprised him by taking him to a matinee movie of Despicable Me 2. So cute!

I used my relax day from next week for today since it’s Tom’s birthday. I also had my rest day from working out.

After finishing work in the evening, I took Tom to a surprise birthday meal in Del Mar at the lovely Il Fornaio! Tom has really enjoyed the surprises and fun over the last two days!

Day 48 complete. A fun birthday celebration with Tom!

Saturday, June 13th:

After working morning and afternoon, Tom and I relaxed for a few hours. Then Chea, Tom, and I went for an hour-and-a-half walk for our workout. Lovely evening walk.

We then enjoyed a healthy dinner of black beans, brown rice, and vegetables. After that, we watched Life of Pi at home.

Day 49 complete. A good Saturday!

I had a lovely week spent with family! Getting back to my normal work schedule went well. I had fun times with birthday celebrations, too!

Yay! I’ve completed my 7th week!
