ISI Worlds Competition Week

The Relax Day Experiment - Week 9The Relax Day Experiment Week 9: ISI Worlds Competition Week

A very busy travel week is ahead. My students are competing at ISI Worlds in Anaheim, California, this week! So, I will be in Anaheim most of the week while also working to get more writing and other work accomplished, too. Read on below to see how my week went.

Sunday, July 21st:

Today I started my day off with 3 hours of work on my business. Then Tom and I went to the gym for a workout and to put together my next strength-exercise routine. We spent 2 hours working out and putting together ideas for the routine.

We then ran a couple of errands, I did some writing, and I took care of some important tasks. Then we relaxed together before our early-morning start.

Today was also my relax day. As I will be in Anaheim most of the week, I wanted to have it before I left.

Day 57 complete. Putting together a new strength routine at the gym was fun!

Monday, July 22nd:

After work in the morning, I packed and got ready for my business trip. Once I finished work in the evening, I got straight into completing errands and important tasks that needed to be finished before I leave tomorrow.

Tom and I went for dinner tonight to spend some time together since I won’t see him again until Friday night. Today was my rest day for working out since I had so much to do.

Day 58 complete. Ready for my business trip!

Tuesday, July 23rd:

I started my day with a 1-hour strength workout (of Tom’s and my creation). It felt great on my body, and I used a weighted belt in addition to dumbbells!

I then got ready and drove to L.A. for the ISI Worlds Competition.

My skaters today did very well and skated stronger than in their previous competition!

Day 59 complete. A good first day of competition!

Wednesday, July 24th:

Today there are three different arenas where my students are competing, and I’m traveling between them. Thankfully, I made it to each rink without hitting much traffic. My students performed very well! Another successful day at ISI Worlds!

Once I returned to the hotel, I checked some e-mails and did a workout. I did a 50-minute Pilates workout of my creation, including foam rolling.

Then Will, Chea, and I met up with some friends who live in L.A. for dinner at a Mexican restaurant.

Day 60 complete. I enjoyed a Pilates workout that made me feel strong, relaxed, and rejuvenated!

Thursday, July 25th:

Today I was at Anaheim Ice a lot of the day with my student who competed. A great day!

I relaxed some in the evening and did a Pilates workout. I did a 1-hour Pilates matwork and foam roller workout with stretching at the end. Pilates is always a great workout when traveling!

Day 61 complete. Another good day of competition!

Friday, June 26th:

Today is the final day my students compete at ISI Worlds. I was at Anaheim Ice and Lakewood Ice today. A good final day of competition!

Congratulations to all my students who competed this week in a successful competition!

It took four hours to drive back in traffic. Then I relaxed and caught up with Tom in the evening.

Day 62 complete. Congrats to all my students for ISI Worlds!

Saturday, June 27th:

I worked morning and afternoon, then ran some errands. Tom and I went to the gym for a strength workout. We did a 1 hour, 10 minute strength workout of our creation followed by full-body stretching. It felt great even though I started feeling lethargic.

Tom and I then spent the evening together. It was great to spend time together with Tom again!

Day 63 complete. A nice Saturday!

A successful week! It was definitely busy traveling between three arenas with five ice rinks for the competition. Interestingly, it was more difficult than normal to eat healthily. Whether this was because I was out of town and surrounded by more tempting food or otherwise, I stuck with it! I feel good, and it was nice to do some strength- and Pilates workouts. I’m excited to get back to my regular routine, though!

Yay! I’ve completed my 9th week!
