There are hundreds of reasons for you to exercise today. But if you can’t think of any good ones to get you moving right now, here are 5 great ones.
- Resistance training of any kind, be it free weights, machines, bodyweight, plyometric, resistance bands, kettlebell or medicine ball will increase your muscle mass and increase bone density. An increase in muscle mass means a higher metabolism. A higher metabolism means your body will use more calories per day just to maintain itself. An increase in bone density occurs when your body stores extra minerals in your bones. This means stronger bones and a larger store of minerals available in your body.
- Anything that elevates your heart rate and breathing is going to target your cardiovascular system for improvement. You could walk, jog, run, swim, cycle, play a sport or anything that gets your heart pumping and your lungs hungry for air. Those sorts of activities will have a positive effect on your heart, lungs and entire body.
- When you exercise, your body will release endorphins. Endorphins are your happy hormones. So simply by exercising, you can make yourself happier
- If you are reading this, then chances are you have exercised before. Then you probably know a lot of the benefits of exercise already. So before you even finish reading this paragraph, you will have come to the conclusion that exercise will make today better than if you don’t exercise. So stop reading and start sweating!
- If you are still hanging on the excuse of not having enough time to exercise today, read on! Exercise today will decrease your body’s level of cortisol (stress hormone) and increase circulation. Both of these will have a positive effect on your ability to think and perform today. Even if it’s just 15 minutes of exercise. You don’t have time not to exercise!
That’s inspiring, but i think almost everybody has become more alert about their health and fitness. Even if they know all these things they skip the fitness session only because they give it less priority. Even some of my friends skip the gym hour just because they think they have to do something more important things like watching movie, it sounds ridiculous, but trust me its true.
I agree with all of these points! I’ve just discovered the fat burning zone doesn’t exist, so I feel like I should start doing some strength building exercising.
