Celebrate Your Fitness Journey

May 5, 2014 By TomFitness, Wellbeing

Celebrate Your Fitness JourneyTake the time today to celebrate your own personal fitness journey. Congratulate yourself on how far you’ve come.

It doesn’t matter how long ago you started your fitness journey. It could be 10 years ago. In that case, wow! Congratulations on sustaining a healthy lifestyle for a whole decade. It may have started yesterday. If so, then congratulations on starting off on a life-changing adventure that will benefit you in more ways than you can imagine right now!

Thank Those Who Have Helped You Along the Way

It doesn’t matter where you are at on your journey. Take a moment right now to thank yourself and anyone else who has helped you on your journey.

Included in this post are some ideas to help you celebrate your amazing fitness journey now and in the future. If you don’t feel like you can celebrate yet, skip to “What if I don’t feel like I’ve made any progress” at the bottom of this article!

Visual Proof of Success

Take some photos. Why not remind yourself of how far you have come with some pictures. You could arrange a professional photo shoot, or just take a selfie of your best angle. Feel proud of the changes you have made to your body and your life. Send them to your trainer or anyone who has helped you. I’m sure they would love to hear about it.

Healthy Nourishment for the Soul

Go out to celebrate. If one of the biggest obstacles in your journey so far has been diet based, why not go out and celebrate with a tasty but healthy meal out. If you know somewhere, great … if not, try searching at Healthy Dining Finder for restaurants with healthier options near you or Happy Cow for vegetarian/vegan options.

Treat Yourself

Treat yourself. You deserve it! Now could be the time to treat yourself to that new shirt you have been wanting or to take mini break with your partner or friends. Treat yourself for your progress with your journey so far. Just keep on going.

What if I Don’t Feel Like I’ve Made Any Progress

Then you are certainly not alone. This is probably the number-one reason people stop on their journey … because they can’t see the progress. Well here’s some food for thought, some facts that show change is happening. The very fact that you are deciding to make healthy diet choices. The fact that you are taking it upon yourself to fit more exercise into your life. The fact that you are now a role model for those around you who haven’t started on their exercise journey yet. The fact you are even thinking about these factors in your life. Even the fact you are reading this article. All these facts signify change, maybe not on the outside yet, but internally. And that is how your journey starts. You will no doubt have to alter course along the way and alter the way you eat, workout, think and manage your life, but you have started! “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” – Lao Tzu

Regular exercise is really essential for healthy and fit body, generally you don’t see results in quick succession so you should be determined to continue until you achieve the results.
