A busy week ahead filled with many items on my to do list. I’m excited for Tom and my trip to LA! Read on below to see how my week went!

Sunday, April 14th:
Today is my day off for working out, as I worked out on Saturday instead last week.
I slept in, spent some girl time with Chea, did some research and writing, spent time with Tom, and got some work done at home.
Day 141 complete. It was a good Sunday!
Monday, April 15th:
I started the day off with a 5:00am workout at Chuze Fitness before working at 6:00am. I did an intense 20 minutes of intervals + full-body stretching.
After working in the morning and afternoon, Tom and I drove to LA. We’re spending the night in LA and going to Six Flags Magic Mountain tomorrow. 🙂
Day 142 complete. I’m so excited to be going to LA with Tom!
Tuesday, April 16th:
After a good night’s rest in LA, I woke up with a sore throat. So, we made a stop at CVS to get some lozenges my doctor recommends whenever I have a sore throat. My throat got so much better as the day went on! I hardly even noticed it by the afternoon.
Tom and I also stopped for breakfast at Jamba Juice for a Fit & Fruitful Smoothie and oatmeal.
Then we spent the day at Six Flags Magic Mountain having a wonderful time! It was difficult finding food to fit into my diet. I ending up having a veggie patty protein style (it was gluten-free and dairy-free although not vegan because it contained eggs) and a side salad. I was happy to stick with my healthy eating when it was so difficult to find healthy options. I hope they get more healthy food options at Six Flags in the future. The rides at Six Flags were incredible! My favorite was the roller-coaster Tatsu.
Day 143 complete. Six Flags with Tom was awesome!
Wednesday, April 17th:
I’m happy I don’t have a sore throat anymore, but I do feel very congested today. For my workout, it’s a Pilates workout of my creation today. I did 30 minutes of Pilates matwork exercises. It felt great, and even though I’m feeling under the weather a bit, I feel better than before my workout!
I worked until 7:45pm, had dinner, and took care of necessities.
Day 144 complete. Pilates feels so great for the body!
Thursday, April 18th:
I woke up feeling not so great still. It just feels like a cold or sinus infection mostly, but I do feel kind of drained today. I’d planned which workout I was going to do today, and I’m sticking with it. So, I started my day off with an INSANITY workout. I did the Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit (approximately 40 minutes of intense plyometric work) + 10 minutes of full-body stretching on the Power Plate. It was definitely very tough today, as I’m not feeling the best. I’m happy I completed it and went full out!
I worked, wrote, and took care of my to-do list.
Day 145 complete. I’m happy to be keeping up with my workouts!
Friday, April 19th:
I started the day off with a 5:00am workout at Chuze Fitness before work. I did 20 minutes intense bike intervals + full-body stretching.
I’m still feeling drained with the sickness that has been going around. I’m happy to be continuing with workouts anyway. I worked most of the day, took care of extra work items, and had a shorter evening with Tom than I hoped for. Overall, a busy and long day.
Day 146 complete. It was a long, busy day.
Saturday, April 20th:
Today was my day off for working out. This is a nice day for it, as I’m still recovering from what’s been going around.
After working in the morning and afternoon, I rested for a while. Then, Will, Chea, Tom, and I had an enjoyable evening with some of our close friends!
Day 147 complete. What a fun evening!
I had a good and productive week. Six Flags was fantastic, and I was happy to stick with my diet through another type of place I used to splurge at in the past. It’s amazing that the time is passing so quickly, and it’s enjoyable to think about the success I’ve had with this experiment the past five months!
Yay! I’ve completed my 21st week out of 26 weeks!
Be sure to check out my original 6-Month Nutrition and Fitness Experiment post for a list of all my posts and recipes!
My own variation of a sugar-free, dairy-free, and gluten-free vegetarian diet:
Sugar-free consists of no sugar, sugar substitutes, honey, or other equivalent except for a small amount of preferably natural sweetener that is already in a product such as bread or whey protein.
Dairy-free includes a few exceptions. I’m including whey protein. I also have times of experimenting with Greek yogurt and regular yogurt to see if they are beneficial to me. In addition, I include eggs in my diet, which is a variation from a vegan diet.
Gluten-free also includes a few exceptions. I include Ezekiel Bread or sprouted bread, which is close to gluten-free in how it’s digested but not actually gluten-free. Some gluten-free plans say oats are fine and some do not. I include oats in my plan.
My fitness plan:
My exercise consists of workouts 6 days per week. The only exception can be if I do an additional workout on a day to count for one of the days or on a recovery week every few months.
Here I am, back again. It seems everything goes well. The Insanity program is really insane but very effective. Congratulations on completing so many weeks. There are just 5 more to go. You can do it. We believe in you!
Thanks so much, Dan! I appreciate the support. It’s an exciting experiment! 🙂
Congratulations on your success. Though I personally know that it requires a good discipline and motivation to stick on whatever things we are doing for the better of our body and health.
I must say, on this glluten free, dairy free and so on thing; I tend to do it religiously for 2 to 3 weeks then let myself go for one meal of dumplings or ice cream then get right back on the diet. That’s the best I can do but the periods between breaking the diet does get a bit longer (sometimes!)
