30-Day Nutrition Challenge: Healthy Cooking Made Fun

January 9, 2014 By Christina Chitwood30-Day Challenges, health, Nutrition

30-Day Nutrition Challenge: Healthy Cooking Made FunWay to go! You make it through week 1 of our 30-Day Nutrition Challenge. Now, on to the second week, 8th day, and making cooking more enjoyable.

Sticking With It

Any challenge can be daunting even with all the excitement of doing something new. The excitement tends to carry you through the beginning a little bit easier. The second week may take more willpower. So, why not make being eating healthy fun?!

Make Cooking a Fun Experience

Cooking doesn’t only have to be something you do everyday or most days in order to have a decent meal. It can also be an experience that you make enjoyable for you or share with others.

Here are 10 tips for making cooking a fun experience.

1. Listen to your favorite music.

2. Listen to an audio book.

3. Watch your favorite show or movie while you cook.

4. Call and catch up with a friend or family member using handsfree.

5. Cook a romantic dinner with or for your partner or spouse.

6. Cook with your children, grandchildren, or nieces and nephews.

7. Cook with or for family and friends.

8. Exercise while you cook.

9. Try a new recipe.

10. Make your favorite foods healthier.

Taste the Flavors

Wow. It can really make a difference when you make your evening meal, or any meal for that matter, special. When your meal is thoughtfully prepared by you or together with someone, you tend to enjoy it more. In turn, you will tend to taste the flavors of the food more intensely. Take your time while eating. Let each flavor linger on your tongue. Enjoy making cooking more of an experience for you instead of a daily task. Here’s to healthy cooking made fun!

I’m gonna add another one to your list: make your kitchen as cozy as possible. They say the space we live in and we work is influences our actions, so having a lovely kitchen will make us cook with more happiness and joy, thus creating better and tastier food.
