Adding Creativity to Your Workouts

April 28, 2011 By Christina ChitwoodFitness, Workouts

It’s easier to do workouts that are exciting rather than boring. A way to keep your workouts interesting and have you wanting to exercise is to be creative and add variety to your workouts.

Here are some ways to add variety and work out in all types of weather:

Sunny/Warm:

  • Walking
  • Hiking
  • Golf
  • Tennis
  • Swimming
  • Football
  • Soccer
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Cycling
  • Surfing
  • Rock climbing
  • Running

Cold/Snow:

  • Skiing or snowboarding
  • Figure skating
  • Ice Hockey
  • Curling
  • Cross country skiing
  • Ice climbing

Indoors during bad weather or any weather condition:

  • Squash
  • Racquetball
  • Badminton
  • Figure Skating
  • Ice Hockey
  • Bouldering
  • Rock Climbing
  • Gym
  • Tennis
  • Driving Ranges or indoor golf facilities
  • Bowling
  • Dancing
  • Exercise Classes

The list goes on. Be creative! Find what you enjoy and try to mix it up. It will be more exciting for you, and your body will reap the benefits if you keep it challenged. I’d love to hear how you are creative in you workouts! 🙂

Looking at this massive list tells me that there is just no excuse to skip workouts. Its just so important to be physically active. Sitting for hours behind the desk should be no excuse. With these many workouts we should be active throughout the year.
