The Relax Day Experiment Week 2: Bachelorette Party, Wedding, and Workout!
This week I’m in Colorado Springs part of the week and in San Diego part of the week. I have a lot of wedding activities with one of my best friends getting married! Read on below to see how my week went.

Sunday, June 2nd:
Today I’m doing a photo shoot with my mom at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs! So, I started my day with a workout. I did a Pilates reformer workout + 10 minutes full-body stretching on the Power Plate.
My mom and I got a manicure and pedicure to prepare for the photo shoot. Then we made our way to Garden of the Gods and spent the afternoon doing the photo shoot. It was a lovely place for the photos, and it was a lot of fun, too! Watch for our Ellie posts (and a giveaway) at the end of June!
Day 8 complete. My mom and I had a lovely photo shoot at Garden of the Gods!
Monday, June 3rd:
I started my day with a workout. I did a 45-minute strength and cardio workout of my creation (full-body strength exercises, abs, dance choreography) + 10 minutes full-body stretching on the Power Plate.
Today was Cody’s bachelorette party! We had an awesome time at Water World, the water park in Denver, and finished the evening at the Cheesecake Factory! I used my relax day for this week today. So, I had my first cheesecake in over 6 months. Very yummy, but oh so rich. I didn’t even manage to finish half of it.
Day 9 complete. A great day!
Tuesday, June 4th:
I had a lovely morning and early afternoon with my parents in Manitou Springs! It’s so great to spend some time with them.
The rehearsal for tomorrow’s wedding was lovely, and the dinner was a great layout with the turquoise and purple decorations.
Today was my rest day from workouts, but I still did some Zumba before bed.
Day 10 complete. I had lots of Manitou- and rehearsal fun!
Wednesday, June 5th:
I started the day with a workout. I did a 50-minute strength workout of my creation (full-body strength and toning exercises, abs, and balance work) + 10 minutes full-body stretching on the Power Plate.
Then I got ready for Cody’s wedding. I’m a bridesmaid. It was so special to share the day with Cody and be part of the bridal party. It was a beautiful church wedding followed by an outdoor reception in Manitou Springs. The weather cooled down for the day but was warmed by the love-filled day of the newly married couple, Cody and Bryce! Congratulations, you two!
I used next week’s relax day for today so I could join in on the wedding cake and meal. Wedding cake is something I always enjoy!
Day 11 complete. It was a beautiful wedding for Cody and Bryce!
Thursday, June 6th:
I did my workout first thing in the morning. My workout was a 40-minute Pilates reformer workout + 10 minutes full-body stretching on the Power Plate.
I then finished getting ready for my flight back to San Diego. It was lovely to eat brunch at Le Peep in Castle Rock on the way to the airport. They have a good gluten-free menu. Then I did some writing while I waited to board my plane at the airport. I enjoyed reading and napping on the way back. The time flew by way too fast in Colorado, but it was a very enjoyable trip!
Day 12 complete. I’m back to San Diego!
Friday, June 7th:
After morning work, a nap, and catching up on things, I did my workout. I did a TurboFire HIIT 20 Class + 10 minutes full-body stretching on the Power Plate.
Worked again and enjoyed a lovely evening with Tom!
Day 13 complete. I’m back to a normal work day.
Saturday, June 8th:
Today I did a 40-minute strength workout of my creation (full-body strength exercises and abs) + 10 minutes full-body stretching on the Power Plate.
I worked morning and afternoon before running some errands and spending the evening with Tom.
Day 14 complete. I had a lovely evening with my hubby!
It was a great week filled with activity! I enjoyed having my relax days this week. It was interesting to find that I didn’t enjoy some of the indulgent food as much as I would have thought, but the cravings were stronger on the days after. Very interesting!
Yay! I’ve completed my 2nd week!
