Beat the Heat This Summer

July 1, 2013 By TomBeat the Heat, Book/Product Reviews

Beat the Heat This SummerWow! First the East Coast got slammed with some extreme heat. Last month, wildfires in Colorado. Now this week a massive heat wave for the West Coast with temperatures reaching 130 in Death Valley, CA.

Great news for those with pools and time to relax in them. As a golf pro, I’m not such a fan. When working outside from sun up to sun down, staying cool is pretty tough.

If you need to cool off, try ProActive Frogg Togg Chilly Pad. It is a towel made from a super evaporative material. You soak it in water, wring some of the water out and as the remaining water evaporates, the towel stays nice and cool whilst staying dry to the touch. I got mine last summer and recommend you try it out.

Now for the fun bit. Your new chilly pad doesn’t have to just be functional. It can also be a great fashion accessory on the golf course, a formal function or out and about in town. Here are my top 5 looks to get you started!

"The Ninja Mask"

2. “The Ninja Mask” – This look is inspired by one of my junior students. Ideal for tactical espionage, covert operations and keeping your nose cool.

"The Explorer"

3. “The Explorer” – With this functional look, you will look the part in the jungle, Australian outback, or just searching through the trees for a lost ball.

"The Aviator"

4. “The Aviator” – Goes great with a brown leather jacket with sheepskin collar. Though the jacket might counter the towel’s cooling powers.

"The Double Windsor"

5. “The Double Windsor” – From the office to the first tee in great style (laughs). A look for the man who has it all, except a mirror.
