HOW TO MAKE A CAT IN THE HAT HEALTHY SNACK

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

      • 2 Bowls
      • 1 Knife
      • 1 Platter or Plate (for a smaller version)
      • 1 Container Strawberries (organic if possible)
      • 2-3 Bananas (organic if possible)

Cat in the Hat Healthy Snack - 1

Here are the healthy ingredients: organic strawberries and organic bananas. Wash the strawberries, cut the tops off the strawberries, and cut them in half. Cut the bananas into approximately 1-inch thick slices.

Place the strawberries onto a plate with one row facing one way and the second row facing the other way. This provides good tessellation (one of my husband’s favorite things!) and makes for a neat-looking stripe. The hat is made up of the colors from top to bottom: red, white, red, white, red, and a white rim. Each colored stripe is made using two rows of the fruit (for example, two rows of sliced strawberries and two rows of sliced bananas). The rim is one row of bananas going a little wider than the rest of the hat.

It’s that easy! It’s super-cute and a really fun snack for kids and adults!

MAKING HEALTHY EATING FUN!

After I made this Cat in the Hat snack, I surprised my 3-year-old niece, Zoey, with it. She absolutely loved it! My mom (Zoey’s grandma), Zoey, and I all finished this snack in one sitting. We were doing a video of Zoey that day after we finished having a snack, and she kept saying, “First we have to finish all of this!”. It was definitely a hit. 🙂 Plus, my mom and I thought it made eating the fruit even more appetizing, too.

Will you try or have you tried this making this Cat in the Hat healthy snack?

What are your or your kids’ favorite snacks? Do you have a type of recipe you’d like me to create?

Have fun!
