This post is in honor of World Vitiligo Day. I’m happy to be a part of the vitiligo family!
Celebrating Vitiligo
Having vitiligo makes you unique. Only a very small percentage of people in the world have vitiligo. No two people with vitiligo are the same. Whether you have it on your hand or all over your body, each person with vitiligo looks unique and his or her vitiligo portrays that uniqueness. I feel some have what I call graceful vitiligo with fluid lines and connections. Others have sharp or bold vitiligo where it stands out even more.
I feel vitiligo is worth celebrating! If you have one area, celebrate it. If you have lots of areas, celebrate it. Vitiligo is one more unique part of you, part of your amazing self! I feel my vitiligo is a part of me, and it’s a part of me that has helped make me who I am today.
Celebrate yours!
Celebrating with Dance Workouts
One way to celebrate your vitiligo is with dance workouts! You can empower yourself this way and also express how you’re feeling or even how you want to feel. Below are some dance workouts that capture different emotions.
John Legend “All of Me” – Dance Workout with Christina Chitwood
Taylor Swift “Shake It Off” – Dance Workout with Christina Chitwood

Do you or someone you know have vitiligo? How long have you had vitiligo? What’s your top tip on embracing vitiligo, or what’s the most important thing you’ve learned from having vitiligo?
I hope this post has reminded you of how unique and special you are in the most amazing way! If you’re new to this vitiligo journey, here’s a warm, welcoming hug. If have had it for well over a decade, like myself, I hope you’ve discovered a way to embrace it. And, of course, a big hug to the vitiligo family! You are incredible. Celebrate your vitiligo!
