What I did to achieve my Goal
Enjoying my putting practice. Devoting more time to full swing this last week as that is still the weak link. Not as much wedge practice as I wanted.
Time spent on full swing – 6 hours
Time spent on shots inside 100 yards – 2 hours
Time spent on putting – 3 hours
Rounds played this week, where, score, fairways/greens/putts
None
Time spent in the gym – 1 hours + stretching

Thoughts on the week –
A strange week. I hit 2 out of 3 of my practice goals. Barely missed the third goal. Made reasonably good progress in practice yet have felt a bit lost. I believe this is only common after passing a big checkpoint. Without the next checkpoint to focus on, I have lacked direction. I have short-term goals and mid-term goals but no monthly goals. Short-term goals are great to work on day to day but can lack overall direction. Mid-length goals are great to give clarity to the overall target but are too big to work on each day. A monthly goal can bridge the gap, providing short-term focus with long-term clarity.
What you can learn from my experience
Finding your Drive!
I discovered this week the necessity to have drive behind my goals. You should have the same when setting your golf or fitness goals. It is just as important to figure out what is driving your desire to meet these goals as setting the goals themselves.
Have a think. What is driving you? A tournament? A vacation?
Why do you want to achieve your goal? If you can’t answer this question, you may struggle to achieve your goal.
Remember, the passion behind the dream is what fuels the journey!
Goals for next week –
I feel that I need to write monthly goals to bring back motivation and direction to my training. I will add this by next week.
I practice putting for 30 mins a day 6 days a week by June 6th
I practice wedges shots inside 100 yards 1 hour per day 3 days per week by June 6th
I practice hitting a variety of shots with a patient tempo on and off the course 1 hour per day 6 days per week by June 6th
I spend 5 hours per week training physically by June 6th
