The Relax Day Experiment Week 5: Fun at the Padres Game
Back to work after our trip to Hawaii! Before we left for Hawaii, I was getting a sore throat but felt fine in Hawaii. We’ll see how the change in humidify affects how I feel this week. My plan is to save my relax day for the week of July 4th. Read on below to see how my week went.
Sunday, June 23rd:
We had an overnight flight back from Hawaii and arrived in San Diego later this morning. My throat was getting a bit prickly during the flight, but I slept through most of the flight. As soon as we got back, we unpacked and started going through things for the upcoming week. Then we got to rest some as we felt a bit jet lagged even though it’s only a few hours different. Tom and I did some grocery shopping to get prepared for healthy meals and snacks this week.
Today was my rest day from last week as I wanted to work out every day in Hawaii.
We absolutely loved vacationing in Hawaii, but we’re happy to be back in San Diego where we love to live!
Day 29 complete. Back in San Diego!
Monday, June 24th:
After work in the morning, I took care of a bunch of work items. Then I worked out. I did an INSANITY workout. I did Insanity’s Cardio Abs. It was interesting to note that my abs felt strong after surfing a lot last week.
After work in the afternoon, I did some writing and to-do items before relaxing for the night.
Day 30 complete. A good work day!
Tuesday, June 25th:
Tom and I started our day with a power walk around the park for our workout. We then went for a matinee movie of Monsters University. It was fun and a cute movie. In the evening we met up with Will and Chea and some good friends for a Padres baseball game! It was a fun night. Unfortunately, the Padres didn’t have a great night.
Day 31 complete. A fun time at the Padres Game!
Wednesday, June 26th:

I did a 30-minute strength workout of my creation. I worked until 8:15pm and then did some work at home. I no longer have a sore throat, and that was the only thing I’ve had this week. So, I’m happy that healthy nutrition and working out prevented it from turning into anything else. I’m a bit more lethargic than normal but otherwise all good.

Thursday, June 27th:
I started my day with a few hours of writing, followed by afternoon work. I did an errand, some to-do items, and then my workout. Tom and I went for a 45-minute walk combined with some fun full-body exercises in the park.
Day 33 complete. I had a fun workout in the park with Tom!
Friday, June 28th:
After morning and afternoon work, I did some writing and took care of some work-related items. Today was this week’s rest day from workouts. Tom and I then spent the evening together.
Day 34 complete. A busy work day!
Saturday, June 29th:
Today I started my day with 30 minutes of strength exercises in a workout of my creation. I worked morning into afternoon. Then, I took care of some work until evening. After that, Tom and I went to dinner at Basil Thai Bistro!
Day 35 complete. It was a good, productive day!
I had a week filled with healthy nutrition and workouts! I fit in all of my workouts, but some were less intense or shorter than normal as I was getting my full energy back. I listened to my body, and I’m feeling good and ready to get into more intense workouts again!
Yay! I’ve completed my 5th week!
