In October, the World Golf Fitness Summit came to Carlsbad, California. The world’s experts in golf fitness gave speeches to fitness professionals, golf professionals, healthcare professionals and golfers alike. Speakers included: Titleist Performance Institute founders Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Philips, nutritionist Dr. David Seaman and golf fitness specialists Jason Glass and Lance Gill.
These speeches talk about golf coaching, golf fitness, fitness coaching and nutrition. Much of the information can be applied to other sports or fitness in general. Dr. David Seaman – “The Nutritional Secret to Pain-Free Golf“. We all know how important nutrition is to our health and fitness. Here Dr. David Seaman talks about his research into how what we eat can lead our bodies to become inflamed, which in turn can lead to pain and injury.
Jason Glass – “The Most Efficient Path to Building a Powerful Golfer” Golf fitness, like most sport specific training revolves around developing controlled power. Jason Glass talks about the importance of scapular and pelvic stability in golfers. Without the stability in these two highly mobile joints, any power created is worthless. The same applies to any sport.
Lance Gil – “Compliance. The Secret Weapon” Lance delivers a funny and informative speech about him losing his top golf fitness client. There are good takeaways here for both trainers and athletes.
