Top 3 Reasons I Love Shopping at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales
This post is not sponsored. I just wanted to share with you my top tips for getting great deals at my favorite stores!
Here are my top 3 reasons I love to shop at both of these great department stores:
- They have so many fabulous brands to choose from all at one store!
- They have great sales!
- You can earn reward points!
My Tips and Tricks for Shopping at Nordstrom
Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns for cardholders and non-cardholders. Plus, you can return/exchange directly to the store in person if you want to, which I find so much easier.
My favorite time to shop Nordstrom is during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that’s typically held around the middle of July! During the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale you get brand new releases for fall at sale prices. After the Anniversary Sale is finished, the prices go back to full price. This is a fabulous way to update your fall wardrobe and shop the newest styles while saving.
You can find unique pieces or pieces with limited availability (such as the top I’m wearing in the photos that I found at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale) at a great price. Some pieces are no longer available after the sale or only available for a very short time after the sale because they sold out so quickly.
Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale as early as you can to get the most availability.
Become a Nordstrom cardholder for lots of benefits.
Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early access when you are a Nordstrom cardholder.
Take advantage of 3x point and 10x point days when you’re a Nordstrom cardholder. These are great times to shop the sale racks and earn lots of reward points that = Nordstrom dollars. You can also use these high-point days to get any bigger ticket items you’re wanting to get before they go on sale and earn a lot of Nordstrom dollars back.
Use reward points/Nordstrom dollars at times when you won’t earn as many reward points, such as times when you’re shopping for less, when there isn’t a sale on, or it isn’t a high-point earning day. These can be other great ways to get newly released fashions or shop the sale racks to get more free clothes from your Nordstrom dollars.
My Tips and Tricks for Shopping at Bloomingdales
Bloomingdales has free shipping over $150 and free returns for everyone. You can return/exchange directly to the store in person if you choose to.
Become a Bloomingdales cardholder (Loyallist) for extra perks.
Get free shipping and free returns if you’re a Loyallist. Plus, return/exchange directly to the store in person.
Shop their Friends and Family Sales that are often 25% off (usually for everyone) or 25% back in reward cards (for Loyallists). However, if you are a Loyallist, you can get both benefits since certain areas of the store are often 25% off and others give 25% back in reward cards. I will often end up with a mixture of 25% off and 25% back in reward cards when I shop these sales.
Watch for the 25% off sales that happen multiple times a year!
Shop in October and ask about Give Pink Get More for Loyallists where you can donate (this year it’s $15) and earn a certain amount of reward cards back, depending on how much you spend.
Top Tips for Shopping Nordstrom and Bloomingdales
I try to do most of my fashion shopping at Nordstrom and Bloomingdales rather than spreading myself between lots of different shops. This way I get more reward points between the two stores since that’s where I shop most! I shop the sales when I buy newly released fashions so I can save on full-priced items and otherwise shop the sale racks or use my reward points for free items.
