Use Nutrition to Enhance Your Performance

October 9, 2011 By Christina ChitwoodPerformance for Everyday Life

I’m a firm believer that what you eat affects how you feel and perform in daily life. If you put healthy food in your body, not only is your energy going to be better, but your concentration will improve as well.

Nutrition is a huge factor that you can control in how you perform. A tricky part of eating healthy is that it can be more expensive than eating unhealthy. Here is an article with some tips on eating healthy on a budget: 10 Ways to Eat Healthy on a Budget from Yahoo Shine.

Eating healthy takes some extra thought and preparation, but it is more than worth it. At the moment, I’ve been cutting gluten out of my diet to see how it affects me. Around three years ago, I started experimenting with eating vegan 5 days per week.

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to educate yourself on healthy eating, which will empower you to make the best decisions for your body. If you listen to your body, you will discover many things you may not have realized otherwise. Try it out! You can make a minor or major change. It’s your choice.

Some minor changes you can try to get you started would be to minimize the sugar in your diet, eat more vegetables, or try to drink more water and have that as your main or only beverage during the day. Those are just a few ways to start.

Try to enjoy the process as much as possible because you should begin to feel better! I’d love to hear how you eat healthy or are trying to eat healthier! 🙂

We’ve been thinking about going gluten free too. Let me know how it works for you. Mostly we have the moderation diet where we do everything in moderation. I’ll go read that yahoo article. Sounds interesting!

Thanks for your comment, Betsy! I’ve been gluten free for a month now, and I feel great! I think it can be very helpful to cut gluten out of your diet, especially since many people have a certain level of gluten intolerance. You can only know by trying it and seeing how you feel. The moderation diet it great. Good job! 🙂
