Say Goodbye to Shiny Skin

October 18, 2010 By Christina ChitwoodMakeup Tips

Are you tired of oil making your makeup look greasy? Is the afternoon shine on your skin driving you mad?

Most of us have dealt with carting makeup around with us for that important meeting, performance, or post-workout event that we don’t have time to stop home to touch up for. So, we carry a big makeup bag or take a bigger purse or bag with us to carry our extra makeup.

Here is a tip so you can carry less makeup around with you throughout the day and have your makeup feel clean on your face.

Blot your skin/makeup!

The best way to do this is to use skin-blotting tissues you can buy in small packets of 20 sheets or so. These work great, and they remove the oil from your skin without messing up your makeup. They’re also very handy because they’re small and can fit in your purse.

The great news, though, is that you don’t have to spend on skin-blotting tissues if you don’t want to! You can use pretty much anything that is clean and that you can pat your skin with to remove oil. Try tissues, paper towels, cloth towels, wash cloths, or whatever you think of that will be safe for your skin.

Remember to be careful and pat softly on your skin so your skin doesn’t get irritated and to prevent your makeup being rubbed off. Makeup gets removed much easier when not using skin-blotting tissues, so it’s up to you which way you want to go.

Now you have the knowledge in your hands and can say goodbye to shiny skin!
