Athletic Pilates and Strength Workout {Fitness Tutorial}

Are you looking for a Pilates or strength workout? I’ve created this athletic Pilates and strength workout for you!
Athletic Pilates and Strength Workout {Fitness Tutorial}

WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS WORKOUT

A Mat (This is the mat I’m using in the video: here. It has gone way up in price since I received it a couple years ago at the IDEA World Fitness Convention.)

A Water Bottle (Preferably a glass water bottle.)

Maybe a Sports Towel

ATHLETIC PILATES & STRENGTH WORKOUT TUTORIAL

FUN, FULL-BODY, DANCE-STYLE WARMUP

Before you do the workout, make sure to do this warmup (blog post tutorial) first!

EXERCISES IN ATHLETIC PILATES & STRENGTH WORKOUT – YOUTUBE VIDEOS

These exercise breakdowns are to help you learn each exercise, develop good posture, and become more knowledgeable about the exercises you’re performing. You can go through the breakdown of each exercise as many times as you’d like. I do recommend doing each exercise breakdown at least once to develop a better understanding of the workout. Even if you’re familiar with the exercise, it’s always helpful to review.

Roll Up Exercise – Lean Beach Body (blog post exercise tutorial)

Bridge – The Buns of Steel Exercise (blog post exercise tutorial)

Single leg bridges for this workout!

Back Extension – Solid Back and Stable Shoulders (blog post exercise tutorial)

Arms long by your side for this workout! Reach arms long and feel your fingertips trying to reach toward your feet. Palms face into your body as you extend off the ground. 

Plank Knee to Shoulder Exercise – Abs of Steel combined with T-Plank – A Classic with a Twist (blog post exercise tutorials)

Plank with opposite knee to shoulder for this workout followed directly by t-plank. Then repeat on the other side.

Sumo Squats – Toned Legs and Butt combined with Transform Your Legs and Butt – Side Kicks Exercise (blog post exercise tutorials)

For this workout do a sumo squat into a side kick on one side, followed by another sumo squat and a side kick on the other side. Repeat alternating legs for the side kicks with sumo squats in between.


Single Leg Squats – Strong, Lean Legs (blog post exercise tutorial)

Rotation Jumps – Powerful and Agile Body (blog post exercise tutorial)

Do this workout at least one time. You can repeat this workout however many times you want to make the workout longer. You can also do this workout and then add one or more of my other workouts.
