You really can work out when you have a baby! It’s actually possible to fit in your workouts and have your baby right there with you the entire time. One of my favorite ways to work out with my baby boy is to have him right next to me, using his wooden baby gym.

Using a Wooden Baby Gym
I love that my baby boy is doing his own workout while I do my workout!
When Caleb first was using the baby gym while I worked out, he would concentrate on it and move his body while lying on his back on his lambskin rug. Now, Caleb has started to become even more involved with his wooden baby gym. He will hit and touch the gym toys, making them move. Caleb is also grabbing the baby gym toys now.
Wooden Baby Gyms Are Great for a Baby’s Development
We bought the wooden baby gym for Caleb before he was born because we knew it was so good for a baby’s development. We were planning to mainly use it downstairs in our living room where we love the Montessori newborn baby space. So far, we’ve primarily used the wooden gym with Caleb in our home gym during our workouts, and it has worked great. Now that Caleb is more interactive with his wooden baby gym, we will move it around the house more. So, he can use it when we work out as well as other times during the day. We love that it is so portable.
Just a few of the things the wooden baby gym is good for is strengthening the body, developing concentration, improving coordination, and developing independence.

What You’ll Need
With these amazing items, you have a wonderful learning and movement center for your baby that can easily be moved where you need it:
How to Use the Wooden Baby Gym
Place your baby on his or her back on the lambskin rug under the baby gym. You may want the baby gym toys in line with your baby’s arms. If your baby is concentrating, it’s best to not interrupt but just keep an eye on your baby. That will help to develop your baby’s concentration.
Things to be Aware Of
- Leave plenty of extra space between you and your baby when you’re working out. You don’t want to risk tripping near him or her.
- As with any toys, make sure to be with your baby and monitor your baby while he or she uses the wooden baby gym.
- It’s not recommended to let babies sleep or nap on lambskin rugs.
